World Cup, gokart and chill

Gearbox Gokart and world cup watch party

The world cup is in session! The second US game against Australia is Friday, 3:00pm EST, so we are going to be putting on the game, relaxing, and after we might even break out the gokarts! For anyone who watched the USA against Paraguay, it was a great game, and really showed the skill of the US team. We are all hoping we might even be able to make it further toward the semi-finals if luck will have it. So take an early afternoon off from work and come watch the game with us.

After the game (or maybe during for those of you who aren’t into soccer) we will be breaking out our three Segway Pro GoKarts and setting up a twisty mini-cone track on our upper parking deck for Time-Trial style Go Kart Racing. Come show us your skills in the seat! Our Karts can hit about 25-27 MPH, so they are definitely no slouch, and with our 16k sq. ft open parking deck, we have plenty of space to play. And don’t worry if you are not interested in hopping on the karts, just come and hangout, talk shop and make fun of the rest of us on the karts while eating some good food.

This event is open to all. Please RSVP below:

What brings you to Gearbox Paddock Club? *

Any members who race will receive points based on their best lap time of the evening. Points will accumulate and the podium finishes at the end of the race “season” will get car-related prizes, so if you miss a race you might get bumped from the leaderboard! Each member will get multiple practice and race laps, with their best time of night counting toward the leaderboard. At the end of the season, everyone will drop your two worst times (or two missed races) and then points will be added up! It will most certainly be competitive and loads of fun.

Please note our requirements for using the go-karts:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older

2. Must wear a SNELL SA2020 or DOT approved FULL FACE helmet. If you don’t have one, you can borrow one of ours.

3. Everyone will be required to sign a waiver before racing, no exceptions.

4. We will be racing time trial style, no head to head racing. That means there are no passing zones, not bumping or contact between carts at all, no exceptions.

5. Stay safe, Gearbox staff reserves the right to pull you off the track for reckless driving. This is meant to be a fun event, and although we are all competitive, safety and fun are our primary goals.
